How to Prepare your own Sugar Scrub at home

Washing your face every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to bed is not enough to keep your face smooth and healthy. Your face needs to be exfoliated at least twice weekly in order for you to stay beautiful and healthy. Facial scrubs sold in supermarkets and cosmetic stores are really expensive and only those with very deep pockets can afford these exfoliating scrubs. This does not mean that just because you do not have a deep pocket that your face should be ignored. You can make your very own facial scrub at home.

A sugar and lemon facial scrub is very effective. It works the same way as the facial scrubs that you can buy at the store. The only difference with this scrub is that it is readily available. All you need is two tablespoonfuls of sugar and a half a lemon.

Squeeze the lemon juice in to a mixing bowl then add the sugar. Mix the two together until they are completely mixed up. The scrub is now ready to use.

Using the sugar lemon scrub
Wash your face and ensure that you get rid of any oils that may have formed on your skin. When your face is clean, place a hot towel that has been dipped in hot water and squeezed. The vapor from the towel will open up your pores and thus make your scrubbing process better by enabling your facial skin to breathe.

Apply the scrub on your face in circular motion. use the tips of your fingers and ensure that all areas of your face are covered. Only the eyes should be exempted. The lips also need to be exfoliated because they also shed dead skin.
After three minutes, wash your face in warm water. Ensure that you get rid of all the sugar mixture from your face. Pat your face dry with a towel and do not apply anything. Let your face breathe through the night. This process should be repeated twice every week and preferably at night before you go to bed.
